Author, lecturer, pilot and Lieutenant Colonel with 25 years of experience in the Swedish defence forces. His work both in Sweden and abroad gives him a unique insight into a world very few of us have access to. His novels are about human destinies and dilemmas that occur in a world that is unknown to the vast majority. He writes about situations that he himself has been in, problems that he himself or close colleagues has had to deal with. In his own words – this is very well-substantiated fiction.

Karjel chose to leave the armed forces in 2016 to focus on his authorship and his extremely popular lectures. In 2016 he received an award for Speaker of the Year.

His novels about the Swedish Security police officer Ernst Grip have been sold to 10 countries.
