After being suspended from his job at the university, there are only a couple of perpetuals left for David Svarthed: a cat who regularly visits him and a project he’s writing on The Iliad that need his full attention. But an accident dissolves his contours and boundaries, and he suddenly has to face a new reality. 

Ellen Mattson’s new novel is about a man who is searching for something that he has lost, in a world that seems to be run by the absurd logic of dreams. In 2021, it was shortlisted for the August Prize for Fiction.
